Recent advances in 3D seismic imaging have increased knowledge of the Hengill geothermal field crustal properties. We present the results of the seismic imaging through travel-time, scattering and absorption imaging of the area with the aim of identifying potential underground magma and/or fluid reservoirs, and to suggest the likely presence of geothermal reservoirs in currently non-harnessed areas. We finally propose a joint interpretation of velocity, scattering and absorption anomalies with the extensive literature on several geophysical analysis performed in the area.
