The hydrogeology of magmatic-hydrothermal systems is governed by the interplay of non-linear magma, rock and fluid properties on various spatial and temporal scales. Understanding these mechanisms is of critical importance for research on active superhot geothermal resources and fossil magmatic-hydrothermal ore deposits. This presentation will show recent advances in numerical modelling resolving magma and fluid flow in concert with dynamic permeability variations that describe how these coupled interactions can optimize resource formation by self-organization.
