The Geotek’s standard Multi-Sensor Core Logger (MSCL-S) is used in paleoclimatic research on both lake and marine sediment cores. The MSCL-S operates by automatically moving core samples past a series of sensors. At IES the MSCL-S core logger is set up for measurements on gamma density, P-wave Velocity, and Magnetic Susceptibility.
